Specialists
The SSU accepts people into Specialist positions when:
- They have a specific skill to offer but do not live in the Greater Victoria area
- They have a specific skill to offer but only wish to be called when this skillset is required
Specialists are listed as Reserve members and are are only called when their skillset is required.
If you wish to become a Specialist, then this is the process:
GREATER VICTORIA AREA
- Contact us for an application and interview
- Acceptance is on an individual basis, but once accepted you will be placed on the reserve list.
OUTSIDE GREATER VICTORIA AREA
- Call us for an application. An interview will take place over the phone prior to sending out the application
- Acceptance is on an individual basis, but once accepted you will be placed on the reserve list.
Specialists include, but are not limited to:
- Divers
- Canine
- Equestrian
- Trackers
- Computer Specialists
- Specialized training (in the area of seach and rescue)
